Implementation of the Right to Housing For Women, Girls, and Gender Diverse People in Canada
The purpose of this report is to inform the Federal Housing Advocate on key housing challenges and housing rights violations experienced by women, girls, and gender diverse people in Canada. There is a severe lack of affordable and appropriate housing that meets the needs of diverse women and women-led families, exacerbated by systemic issues that keep many trapped in poverty and struggling to obtain housing assistance.
2SLGBTQQIA+ Sub-Working Group: MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ National Action Plan Final Report
This work centers 2SLGBTQQIA+ relatives and kin who are currently missing or went missing and were later found murdered, illustrating the history and background of how Two-Spirit and gender and sexually diverse Indigenous people have been affected by genocide and gendericide.
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ National Action Plan: Urban Path to Reclaiming Power and Place, Regardless of Residency
An Urban Sub-Working Group (USWG) developed this chapter of the National Action Plan to eliminate violence against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, in response to the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The USWG includes current and former members of the urban community from all regions of Canada, with lived experience as survivors, family members, and/or experts in the urban reality and violence against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.
